I use this app a lot now, and I just love it how simple and fast it is, I would completely uninstall my other text-editor if I could just get auto complete for most languages and a feature to allow us to shrink and extract blocks of code either by selection or by default ( functions, if/while/do statements etc. ) Keep up the good work!!
Code Writer is a free text and code editor app with over 20 supported file types, and active syntax highlighting that updates as you edit documents. Use it as a replacement for Notepad and other quick edit apps. The app has been built from the ground up for Windows 10. Its fast and fluid, and gives you the power to edit documents with features youd normally only find in desktop apps. Code Writer is perfect for editing any text-based file, doing code reviews, or giving presentations with code samples. The text editor allows you to edit documents in near full-screen mode with the chrome fading to the background. The collapsible side bar houses features like a document explorer, search functionality, advanced editing commands, print/share, settings, and help. A popup command palette provides quick keyboard access to almost every command in the app. Easily create new or open existing documents from any accessible source. Color is used pervasively throughout the app to create a bond between you and the various file types you work with. Configure the editor theme and other options such as font size to mold your ideal editing environment. Learn about every product feature with the included detailed documentation. The app requires Windows Fall Creators Update or later, and is fully supported on ARM, x86, and x64 devices. IF YOU LIKE THIS FREE APP, PLEASE SUPPORT ITS CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT WITH GOOD RATINGS. Options to add custom file extensions for file types, and disable file types you dont work with
Create new documents, browse to open any accessible document, and easily reopen recent documents
— Could you add a split view so we could look at multiple files at once? I love the app, but it appears that its still designed for Windows 8. Would love to see an update with it more geared toward Windows 10 with the proper syntax highlighting, etc.
Open documents are persisted between app sessions

This is a lovely app, and as I do a lot of PHP coding, I am quite picky about my apps. On w7 I use jEdit, and love it. But this app has some auto-complete features, which is lovely, find and replace, which is also extremely useful. As for Cons, I would say that the Browse for new apps can be disorientating. At the top of the screen, it displays the folder I am in, however when managing multiple domains a lot of the folders have the same names. So I would suggest to take the last three folders (and actually, have an option in the setings to change how many) up there, so instead of docs, I can have /public_html/docs/contact-us/ for example. That would be SO helpful.
Please add windows 10 support: new UI, drag-n-drop etc.

File associations allow the app to be used as a default editor for various file types
LaTeX would be awesome here. Dont know how easy/hard it is for you guys to add new file types though. Also an update to Win 10 would be good, so I didnt have to hunt for that annoying bottom/top menu bar.

Its a great tool but opening the app can lag sometimes and I wish there was a way to have multiple separate editor windows open at the same time.

it is the best code writing app in store but it only needs a compiler so that we can run our codes and test it , so if you could do such a thing I would be very thankful. I appreciate your efforts. and please make it compatible for windows phone too. we really need it.

I use this to help me write SQL queries. I really like how it helps me not miss opening and closing parenthesis in my code. Its language support is pretty good as well. Recently though I have been doing XML file editing (stupid IRS) and this app really chokes on large XML files. It can take a long time to open them or may never open them.
