Started off with a screening test where I was given 2 relatively simple problems to solve online. Progressed to an interview on their CodePair platform with one of the founders where I was given a more difficult but still quite doable problem followed by some chit-chat. Finally, I was given a project to build a plugin for a text editor or IDE of my choice that would integrate the HackerRank API.I spent quite a bit of time coding that last project and was looking forward to getting some feedback, but I never heard back from them again after that point (a few months ago now). Even if they decided my programming chops were lacking, I would expect to hear back something after all the time I invested in the process. Seems likely to me that these are not people that have a great deal of empathy or consideration of others. I ended up taking another job shortly after this, so no big loss, but I definitely lost a lot of respect for HackerRank (which is disappointing because I think they have an excellent product).

He called me an hour after the scheduled time, and ignored me during the call while I was completing questions through their platform. It seemed like he was doing something else because it was extremely noisy and he wasnt answering my questions. I was called back by the recruiter and told they wanted me to interview for a Engineer Sales position. Yeah, no.

I applied to HackerRank in around the end of October 2015.The first round was an online coding round on their own platform which had three questions. One frontend question which was easy if you know JavaScript. Two moderate coding questions. Focus on solving all testcases rather than optimization.The next round was an interview with live coding on CodePair. The interview revolved around the technologies that I had worked upon and the challenges faced. They made me solve some SQL queries and there was a moderate algorithmic question.In the next round I was given a task to build a Google Calendar scheduler using Backbone.js and Node.js.The final round was an onsite interview at their office in Bangalore. I was given puzzles to solve, write basic code and was required to explain my projects.
Seamless would be the word. I applied and within 3 weeks I completed my entire interview process.The questions unlike other companies were very relevant to what I would be doing there if I joined them.
